When a person is found intoxicated under the influence while driving a motor vehicle they are considered to be a drunk driver. Drunk drivers tend to kill people frequently throughout the year. This happens from people who drive their cars after they drink or people who have not sobered up yet in the morning. If this happens there many laws being broken and can be compound by the unforeseen death of a pedestrian if they are hit. This tends to  happen mostly with teens stealing vehicles and/or under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Vehicle manslaughter often applies to individual who has a passenger in the car who dies. This could happen by a vehicle being flipped or turned over by going into high-speed.

Depending on the severity of vehicle manslaughter the judge will have to hear the case. The severity of a prison term or fine is according to what, when, and how the accident happened.
